About

Howdy.  Thanks for reading, you're most likely a family member or friend so you know me.  But just in case you're not and you randomly found yourself here at 3am because you couldn't sleep, nice to meet you.

My name is Amanda, and I am an Academic Advisor.  (No, it's not like AA.  Shut up.)
Until very recently, I worked for a large public institution in Texas; as of January 1, I work for that large public institution's branch campus in Doha, Qatar.  I've not written much lately (in fact, seems I skipped all of 2014), but as I go thru this relocation and life change, I've decided you, too, need to go thru it with me.  Aren't you the lucky one?
It will also serve as cheap therapy.

I'm married to a pretty damn amazing dude, who also works for the large public institution's branch campus in Doha, Qatar.  We love to travel, and are excited to use DQ as a jumping-off point to visit the rest of the world.  We have two dogs, who do not  work for the large public institution's branch campus in Doha, Qatar, and remain in the States with a super awesome person who spoils them so rotten, I'm not sure they will remember us when we come back to visit.

I am also a photographer, and you'll find some of my work here and there on the site.  I shoot mostly inanimate objects, but I have shot friends and family as well and they seem to have turned out OK.  If you would like more info, or to see more work, contact me at amatherphotos@gmail.com.
